SGF – Sure Global Fair
SGF International e. V. (Sure – Global – Fair) is seen as a pioneer for industrial self-control in the fruit juice industry. As a non-profit organisation, SGF is carried and financed by more than 600 member companies of the branch from nearly 60 countries worldwide. The member companies have stipulated the following objectives in the Statutes:- Safeguarding and promoting the positive image of the branch products
- Promoting safety and quality of the branch products
- Protecting the consumer
- Safeguarding fair competition
- Protecting members against unfair competition
- Supporting members in fending off unjustified attacks from third parties
- Supporting members in fulfilling their legally due diligence
In order to achieve these objectives, SGF runs among others the Voluntary Control System (VCS) with monitoring and certifying activities covering all levels of production and trading. It stretches from the fruit processor via cool storages and blending stations to the manufacturers of semi-finished and finished goods and the traders up to the retail shelves. This allows to trace not just the history of the products but also possible quality deviations back to their source where they can be eliminated.
SGF also works constantly at initial and on-going development of necessary analysis instruments in the context of comprehensive research projects. With its sights always set on the objective of a sure and fair market for fruit juice, SGF is dedicated to finding new ideas for improving the range of its services.
